Privacy Policy.

CK Applied Systems is a business-to-business consultancy. It does not sell products to consumers and does not operate a consumer application. In almost every case the data our software touches belongs to a client business, and we access it only as that client's service provider, on their instruction.

Client business records

Orders, invoices, products, inventory, purchases, suppliers and financial transactions held in systems the client already uses.

Connected platforms

Accounting, e-commerce and marketplace services the client authorises — for example QuickBooks Online, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central and inventory systems.

Personal information

Only where unavoidable. Where a task can be done without customer names, addresses or contact details, we do not request access to them.

Website enquiries

Name, email and message when you contact us or book through this site.

Data is used solely to build, operate, support and debug the software the client has engaged us for — reporting, reconciliation, bookkeeping automation and similar.

We do not sell data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use client data to train machine learning models. We do not combine one client's data with another's.

Where an engagement ends, access is revoked and working copies are deleted on request.

Credentials

API keys and access tokens are held in the operating system keychain or an encrypted store. They are not committed to source control and not stored in plain text.

Least privilege

Read-only access is requested wherever the task allows it, and write access only where the work genuinely requires it.

Infrastructure

Hosting and databases are provided by established vendors, including Vercel and Supabase. Where a region can be chosen, Canadian regions are preferred.

Revocation

A client can revoke any connection at any time from the platform that granted it, without notice to us.

No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. We aim to hold the minimum access needed, for the shortest time it is useful.

Where a client connects an accounting service such as QuickBooks Online, we access it only through that service's official API, under an authorisation the client grants and can withdraw.

That access is used to read the account structure and to post accounting records on the client's behalf. It is not used for any other purpose, is not shared with third parties, and is not accessed once the engagement ends.

We operate under Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA. Where we hold personal information, you may request access to it, correction of it, or its deletion.

Where we process information on behalf of a client business, that client is the appropriate first point of contact, and we will support them in responding.
